Two of Kristie Arden's photographs we selected to be a part of exhibit, "Art Heals" at Long Beach City Hall in New York. The LBNY-Arts Counsel wanted to show the City's triumph over adversity after Superstorm Sandy.
Kristie Arden is a natural light photographer and has always appreciated the beauty of nature. She lets the beach compose the pictures. Kristie says that, "natural lighting is the perfect way to let any subject come to life". The early morning and sunset are her favorite times to shoot.
A graduate of Northeastern University and Parsons School of Design, Kristie has studied art for many years. She has worked for several years as a designer for a major retail store and as a floral designer. But when Kristie moved to Long Island, eighteen years ago, and saw it's beautiful beaches is when she really became inspired.
Kristie wants to capture those amazing beaches and luminous light with her camera. She has been so inspired by the beach, marinas, and the surfing community. Kristie said that, "the relaxed, beach style has become such a large part of my life. It is how I create work and how I try to live my life".
